Privacy policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
LoamWay is software for lawn care businesses, made by LoamWay LLC, a Michigan company (“LoamWay”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers our website, loamway.com, and the LoamWay application.
Two kinds of information
- About the lawn care businesses that use LoamWay, and the people who work for them. They are our customers.
- About those businesses’ own customers — the homeowners whose lawns they look after. We hold this on the business’s behalf: the business decides what goes in, it is the business’s information, and we use it only to run LoamWay for that business. If you are a homeowner, the business you deal with is the one to ask first about your information; you can also contact us.
What we collect
From businesses and their staff
- Names, email addresses and a password (stored only in scrambled form, which we cannot read).
- Business details: name, contact email, shop address and service area.
- Hourly pay rates the business chooses to enter, and clock-in and clock-out times.
- Location from crew phones, only while the person is clocked in: to show the business where its crews are, to record arriving at, checking in to and leaving a stop, and to replay a crew's route. On Android this continues in the background, with a notification showing, until the person clocks out. Location history is kept for three years, then deleted. Before any of it, the crew app shows each person a notice saying so, and we record when they accepted it.
- Photos taken of finished work.
About homeowners, on the business’s behalf
- Name, address, phone number and email address — given to the business, or typed into the quote form on the business’s own website.
- Lawn and lot measurements, worked out from public county property records and map data.
- The visits made, the prices charged, and whether they have been paid.
- Payment cards are handled by Stripe. Card numbers never reach LoamWay. We keep only what Stripe tells us to show: the card brand, its last four digits and its expiry date.
From visitors to loamway.com
- What you type into our contact form.
- Your IP address, kept to stop the form being abused.
- Ordinary server logs, kept for security and for fixing problems.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in and to protect forms from being submitted by another site. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use analytics or tracking services.
How we use it
- To run LoamWay: measuring and pricing lawns, building routes, showing crews their day, and recording the work.
- To take payments for a business, through Stripe, when the business has turned that on.
- To send messages for a business — emails today, and text messages once available — about visits, receipts and bills.
- To answer questions and give support, to keep LoamWay secure, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use homeowners’ information for our own marketing.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run LoamWay, for that purpose alone:
- Our web host, which runs our servers.
- Stripe, for card payments.
- Amazon Web Services, which stores job photos.
- Google and OpenStreetMap, for maps and looking up addresses.
- County property records and the parcel-data provider Regrid, for lot sizes.
- Our email service, to deliver messages.
- Twilio, to deliver text messages, once text messages are available.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect people’s safety, or as part of a sale of the business, in which case this policy would continue to apply.
Text messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Sharing with the companies that deliver messages for us, only so they can deliver them, is not affected. See our text message terms.
How long we keep it
For as long as a business uses LoamWay. After a business cancels, it can export its information for 30 days; we then delete it within a reasonable time, except for records the law requires us to keep, such as financial records. Copies in backups are deleted as the backups are replaced.
Your choices
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete it.
- Homeowners can ask the business they deal with, or contact us and we will pass the request on.
- Reply STOP to any LoamWay text message to stop receiving them.
Keeping it safe
Every connection to LoamWay is encrypted, passwords are stored only in scrambled form, and each person sees only what their role allows. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell affected businesses promptly if something goes wrong.
Children
LoamWay is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date, and tell businesses using LoamWay about any important change.
